About Auburn Wild West Stampede |
One of the oldest and most exciting rodeos in Northern California, the Auburn Wild West Stampede attracts hundreds of the nations top PRCA Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls to compete for thousands in prize money. Two days of Pro Rodeo are preceded by a week of parties, the Miss Auburn Stampede pageant, Jackpot Team Roping and Barrel Racing.
Rodeo has been a tradition in Auburn since the 1800s and has been held annually since 1932. The Auburn Wild West Stampede is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the sport of rodeo and the traditions of ranching. A portion of the proceeds from Stampede activities is used to host the Dick Foster Special Kids Rodeo for children with disabilities, as well as honoring other charitable requests throughout the year. Each year, Auburn Rodeo weekend kicks off at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, where Gunslingers slap leather and the Western Fair catches your attention with gifts, crafts and apparel. And you wont want to miss the annual Rodeo Dance at Pistol Petes saloon. Take a look at our full schedule, join in the fun by entering the Community Participation Event (to be announced), sign up the kids for Mutton Bustin, volunteer to help, or just buy your tickets early and hold on for a wild ride!
This year we are proud to support the national rodeo industry Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer. In 2007 our involvement allowed 75 local woman to receive no- or low-cost mammograms through the Auburn Cancer Hotline (530-885-7953 in Auburn.) On Sunday of Rodeo Weekend you will see a lot of folks wearing PINK, and proud of it! |
